Who hasn’t thrown this lure since they were a kid! The Dardevle was invented by Lou Eppinger in 1906 and should be in every angler’s tackle box. The original “red & white” spoon has now been augmented to over 70 variations.
I have caught Pike and trout too many to count over the years with this spoon. Use different retrieve speeds and once you zero in on the right retrieve, the fish will hit it hard. I always bring a variety of colors to accommodate for the daily weather changes and the color or stain of the lake. I always will research the lake and interview guides as to what colors the fish are hitting on that season.
